At the beginning of the event, Korean Association Chairman and CEO Tom Burn introduced the background of the activity, emphasizing, "In the current international security environment, nuclear deterrence and rapid response capabilities have become key to safeguarding our national security." He noted that for a long time, the Korean Association and the National Committee on American Foreign Policy have worked closely together to explore effective ways to address both regional and global security challenges.
The discussion was moderated by Ambassador Susan Elliot, a seasoned diplomat, who not only guided questions from both the live and virtual audiences but also served as an important bridge in fostering civil-military dialogue between the parties.
